We would like to inform you that due to the reconstruction of the channel Ara embankment, part of the nature trail CLOSED is closed to visitors (from the barn to the observation platform no. 7). The construction work will take place from 27 September to the second half of November 2021.

Please respect the signalization, otherwise we will have to close the reserve completely for safety reasons.

The reconstruction of the embankment of the left discharging channel of the Rižana river, called Ara, is necessary due to its dilapidation and to ensure more adequate flood safety of the Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve. The construction works are part of the Program for the Use of the Climate Change Fund in the Period 2020 – 2023 and will be carried out in accordance of the Annual Work Program of Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve for 2021.
