The project is aiming to contribute towards long-term conservation of the Natura 2000 sites and other natural areas in the eligible regions along Slovenian-Italian border and thus also towards sustainable development of the regions. One of the most important purposes of the project is to create examples of co-operation between nature conservation sector and countryside sustainable development acters in creating new development opportunities through the production of marketing strategies. The protection of Natura 2000 will benefit through the production of management guidelines for protected bird species, supported with necessary research of species and habitats and establishment of sites' caretakers network. With promotional and educational activities and interpretation, the exceptional nature and biodiversity of the region will be presented to the target groups. That's how the project will contribute towards the awareness-raising and creating more responsible attitude towards nature.
